pink spring coat
Well hello!
you've probably seen this coat a lot on Instagram. Today, i'll tell you its story.
I can't seem to remember where I got this fabric but what I know for sure is that I looooved it at first sight (yes it's love don't judge me). I believe someone gave it to me because I didn't have the samefootage I buy when I want a fabric. And I would surely have gone back to buy more (yes I'm an addict).
This project started a year and a half ago : I wanted a bicolor jacket with another one I bought in highschool. But by the time I finished it, I didn't like it anymore.
So I unsewed the green jacket parts (the tips of the sleeves and the collar that I sewed on it) and then I put it in the unfinished projects pile (I sais don't judge ok?!I ragequit sometimes).
A weekend, while sorting my mess (a loooot of unfinished and to start projects) , I found it and went back to think about it again and I decided to add a big hood but keep the 3/4 length sleeves.
At first I installed a snap button but the asymmetrical finish of it. So I...put it back ....in the pile (... I'm ashamed alright ?! )
At the second hand store of my city, I found a zipper in the same pink as the jacket and bam! the jacket was back.
Rather than aligning the tops of the closure as the first time, I aligned the bottoms.
Truthfully, this jacket is not quite finished yet but I wear it anyway.
The pockets and a correct collar are lacking : for the moment I can not wear it in the winter.
I will also probably change the lining and add one on the hood.
I would also like to make this a waterproof jacket if possible.
I like to wear this jacket : I wear it when I need a hood or when I want to wear pink (I do not have a lot in my closet). I love: the hood is huge (and this is important with with my hair) and the pattern , let's talk about it : PER-FECT, and finally, three quarter sleeve that allows me to wear this in beautiful days.
