vinyl skirt
Hey ones!
As promised, the vinyl skirt is the order of the day!
At first I was hesitant to make myself a vinyl skirt, but this color caught my eye (I confess they had fuchsia , but hey, you gotta see what is wearable or not). I bought this fabric in order to make a trousers (which is ongoing) and I still had enough fabric to make a skirt.
When I put myself to it, my desk was not available (yes it is a nice way of saying that it was a meeeess), so I sewed the pockets by hand. It was long but it was worth it because I don't know if I would have succeed with my sewing machine .I stitched the belt without putting elastic and it slipped it all day long so after I worn for several days, I added one (yeah we can not rebel forever ...).
I like the fabric I used for the pockets, this is an old nightgown I have since high school.
What I like in this fabric is the color ofthe dots which we can only see by getting close and how it shows when I slide my hands in my pockets.
It is a bit short alone but I always manage to have an extra skirt underneath. Something that pisses me off is the fact that vinyl creases reeeally quickly. I have not looked at how you iron it (yeah eh lazy), but I'll tell you if I (look) find.
Vinyl is very easy to sew in fact, I read on the blogosphere that it was complicated, like you're supposed to use a special foot to make it easier (gnagnagna) but I did it without it and it was pretty fine. . The only advice I can give you is to be careful where you plant the pins because the hole will remain there. In addition, if you cut out your pieces very neatly when you start, you will not need to hem it (which would have made my skirt unwearable in its current length)
As for the pattern of the circle skirt, our Internet friend your queries.

In short, if you're a begginer and you want to sew something that is not cotton, do it! it's easy (but be carefull anyway.
