outfit 1 part 2: bicolore jeans

Hey les loulous!

here come part 2 of the outfit i talked about last week.

On Instagram, I posted pictures with these jeans and told you it will be on the blog "one day (well that's what I said in french anyway).

the day has come! So for starter , I made these jeans this summer, when the thrift shop of my town started to sale jean like fabric.

It's like jeans fabric but lightweighted and stretchy: I could easily have made a jegging with it.

I certainly should have taken pictures before cutting it (but you don't usually take pictures of failed project ) it had so many flaws :

  1. it was too baggy around the legs and butt area

  2. it was too short

  3. the zipper was on the side (don't judge me it was really goog looking. But not very practical)

  4. pockets were too small and far on the side

Despite all the flaws, I wore it and with high heels it was pretty. But las month, I realised that I didn't have much pants in my closet and thouth "that's it I don't wanna keep wearing it like this, I need new pants". And there the story begins:

I cut the nex place of the future pockets and made pockets with some sheet fabric that lied on my table. I like the colorblocked effect with the white and the jeans. It gives pep to the garment.

I took the belt off and then, it hits me. The big laziness. I needed a fitting belt that was also pretty (ugh wheeere am I gonna find this??). i have the chance of having a collection( 3 boxes ) of "to cut/ modify/ destroy-because-i-can't-wear-it" clothes so I dug and found a short that was torn between the legs (basically it was panties). So I cut the belt of it and sew it on the new pant. So there I had the top of the pant done, I needed something to lengthen the legs of it. I simply cut the legs off another short and i sew that to the bottom of the jeans.

once I had that, all that was left was to arrange the baggyness . So I put it on an measured the widht I wanted on the ankle and pinned everything in place.

An d that was it! I fixed every sewing mistakes i made the first time and restored my  confidence. It's quite hard for me to find pants or patterns that fits me properly so I'm reallu happy for this one. It has become a stapple piece of my wardrobe (which is quite easy sinec I have 4 pants and 60 skirts and dresses.).

Welle that's it for today, please come back for more and check out my Instagram page for more of me.

Bye
