striped trousers
you probably noticed in my Instagram feed this gorgeous striped trousers. Well today, i'm telling you it's story.

I wanted striped clothes since high school but I couldn't find the one. You probably already know that I have a thrift shop in my town and I found this fabric: vertical,thin stripes what more could I ask?
At first , I didn't want bias for this but when I cut everything down and looked at it laying before me, It was a little off: I wanted something fun!. So I asked my fiancé what I should do and he suggested that I put bias on. He even choose the color between the skyblue or the orange (You guessed it, he choose the orange one). Thanks babe
For the sewing pattern, as I do not have one, I opted for the DIY: I took one of my pants . You can search the internet you will find plenty of explanatory videos. I also helped myself with a very old sewing technique book. I rediscovered the technique of bias binding through this book (without it, I would loose my mind) .
I did the pockets pieces and the front part of the pants, then I stiched the pockets for the back on themselves before sewing it to the back pants. I then sewed the whole thing toghether .
And finally I sewed the bias on the ankles and on the waist
It is really very comfortable, lightweight, does not scratch, does not wrinkle at the slightest movement. Besides when I make a trousers, there is always something that goes wrong, but this time I managed well .The length allows me to wear heels or flats, my (big) butt fits perfectly and even the pockets are accessible.
In colors I've had compliments and remarks: people find that stripes are psychedelic and when I stay still, it draws the eye and makes people dizzy. I love the combination of stripes and orange. From afar we see pants in gray with orange details visible and near, we see stripes. I like it.
I would not say this is my new favorite pants (at this level every new pants I'll have will be a favorite pants) but almost.
