BROWN SHIRT
well hiiii! I come today to talk to you about this beautiful brown shirt.
I had this brown cloth for a while. It is a rather thick polyester in the kind used to make tailors. It is light enough to wear when there is sun . I had a small amount and I only have small scraps.
I wanted a short shirt and quite wide still, like a crop top but still classy. I opted for this fabric for its color.
I wanted to have a collar « claudine » on this shirt and I made the sleeves so that they fall in the same place as the shirt's hem. For the back of the collar, I did not have enough fabric to do it in the same fabric so I used a light pink gingham fabric to make it. There are darts on the sides of the chest to make it look better when my arms are lowered (no, I do not walk with my arms in the air constantly).
For the buttons, I had stacked the right number in a similar color.
In the back, I made acrease in the middle. I like this kind of details that seem completely useless but that adds a little trick to the garment.
I used a contrasting thread for the buttonhole and for the finishes.
I think I took 4 hours to sew this shirt, and it was really easy since I put as much time because of all the tests to know if it was pretty: the darts, fitting , the length...
I love this shirt: I can put it with what I want, often with highwaisted slim jeans (say that fast) or with a pencil skirt (also high waisted), it is classy while being "casual" , she's at the right length for the outfits I like to wear.
I did another one but I did not finish it. It is beige, in a light cotton and I made the finishes in a light brown bias, I will show you, she is more beautiful than this. I modified the collar which was too wide and fell badly in the back, the closure is, this time, invisible. I am sure to make others since in writing this article, I am seeing another one with a new design (my brain never stops) kind of "colorblocked".
I think I'll make a pattern and create some for sale because they please me very much and I'm surely not the only one to love them.
