La limandi
mon gilet cosy
Hellowwwww in these fresh times , I pulled out my boiled-wool vest which warms me up well.
At first, I made a poncho with this fabric but I looked like Florent Pagny so I recycled (he is a french singer and not my favorite fashion model). In fact this vest almost did not see the day: I had a lot of trouble doing it, I made a lot of mistakes. I cut out raglan sleeves and a long back.
I also found a scrap 20 cm wide and 2 meters long (yeah I know it's a bit strange but enough). Next to each other I liked it a lot so I sewed it as a neckline.
Despite that, it had a rather strange shape (never happy eh!), A little too rectangular at the hem. I cut it into a petal shape to be able to close it if I'm cold and still have a beautiful shape.
I wanted something warm and comfortable so I opted for an open waistcoat. For the front, I had to make a puzzle but I managed to cut two pieces anyways. Because against the collar I had no place at all, so he ended up in my clothes- to-finish case. It was only recently that it emerged (I confess, while cleaning).

It took two years to do this vest because I did not wear many vests and besides I did not master my sewing machine very well (yes yes I also was a beginner). I think I'm worried for this winter if I manage to get my hands on not too expensive boiled wool.
That's it that's all ! We meet on Instagram or here later. Bye!
Between the time when this waistcoat was a poncho, with the big scrap I was left with, I had made another sleeveless vest by following a tutorial. It was a large rectangle in which I cut holes for the sleeves. The collar was super long, I could have made a hood with but I opted for a pleated collar to changes what is found in the trade. I like these two vests, I do not wear them the same way knowing that the second has no sleeve, I only put it in late summer
And in early fall or early spring.
This woolcoat does not please my entourage (which is not especially new haha) but I do not dress for others. In addition it warms me up perfect: I can put it as a coat in autumn.

For warm and easy to make clothes, the boiled wool is magic (well it does not shines when you sew but it could!): It does not slip under the foot of the machine, it maintains the form you have cut and if you don't want to make a hem, you don't need to. For the sleeves, I just folded them to fit my size.
