welcome back! today i'll talk about this un-cute (is that a word?) shirtdress I bought in a flea market.

So i bought it because I loved the fabric. What I don't love about it is the length of it and the puffy sleeves and the button up style (why did you buy it then?).
First, I put it on my dressform and started thinking. I dug in my "to modify clothes" and found a lycra shirt that was really not for me. So I cut a tube out of it to use it as a belt. I cut it long enough to be able to decide of the length of the dress I disconected the skirt part and sewed it to the tube I made earlier. I was left with a skirt with a weirdly long belt and a top with ugly puffysleeves and buttons.
I traced a bustier out of the top making sure to get rid off the button part.
The problem was the bustier slip off my chest with each and every moves then I sewed straps on it with ribbon.
I really love this dress but I can't wear it at work (because of the wide cleavage obviously) but since i'm a rebel, I wear it anyway ... with a shirt on top of it to hide it. When I want a classy look, I wear it with heels and I stretch the belt part , when I want a sexy look I keep the belt thin and when I want to wear it at work I do something in the middle : average belt width and sneakers.
